If you post a brief: what you need, your budget band and timescale, your description, your name, business name, email, phone if you give it, and town if you give it. We use it to match your brief to designers and to send it to them. The lawful basis is the contract you are asking us to perform (finding you quotes).
If you apply as a designer: your name, trading name, email, phone, town, your own website, example sites, what you build, your budget bands and pricing. We use it to vet you, to list you and to send you matched briefs. The lawful basis is the contract you are asking for (being listed), and our legitimate interest in checking who we list.
Technical: our hosting records the IP address and time of each submission for security and to detect automated abuse. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
A brief is sent to no more than three designers matched to it, and to no one else. A designer's application is seen only by us; once listed, your trading name, town, website and the kinds of site you build may be shown to businesses whose briefs we send you. We do not sell data and we do not send marketing to either side.
Email is delivered by our hosting provider and stored in our own mailbox. We use no third-party CRM.
Briefs: 12 months from posting, then deleted. Designer applications: for as long as you are listed, plus 12 months; rejected applications are deleted after 3 months. Technical logs: 90 days.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it, by emailing hello@lowcostwebsites.co.uk. We answer within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
